Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer. Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter: • suggest how you could help her in her home • say why you would like to do this work • explain when you will and will not be available

Dear Mrs Barrett, I hope you are doing well. I am reaching out to you in response to your advertisement published in the New York Times
last
week. I understand you require someone to help you with household work for the upcoming summer. I have been living in
this
city for a couple of years alone and I could easily manage daily chores. I could help you in preparing afternoon meals, dump the waste in the garbage container, and purchase groceries for you. I won’t be visiting my hometown
due to
some family issues. It would be great for me to keep myself busy by working as all my roommates would be travelling. I could start from the first week of next month. On weekends, I have my dance classes.
However
, I am happy to help you on weekdays from 10 AM to 5 PM. Looking forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, Anjali Patel

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
