The table below shows the consumer durables (telephone, refrigerator, etc.) owned in Britain from 1972 to 1983. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below. You should write at least 150 words.
The table shows the
percentage
of some devices possessors in Britain in the years
between 1972 and 1983. Overall
, the trend had a tendency to increase over the years
, reaching the highest percentage
in 1983. Furthermore
, there are some items that appeared in British accommodations during these ages and others that disappeared.
As could be inferred from the data, the general pattern was increasing in percentage
. In fact, the most number of items used to be always more common over the years
. Television and Refrigerator gained the highest values, reaching 98% and 94% respectively. Also
, washing machines and telephones had been always more frequent, with numbers around 80% and 77%. On the other hand
, vacuum cleaners had never been bought after 1982. In contrast
, dishwashers started to be used in 1978.
The richest years
were the last
two, hence
there were relevant increases in percentage
for every tool. The years
between 1972 and 1976 were the poorest because all the devices were owned in small percentages compared with other times. Furthermore
, video
and dishwasher were not physically present. All the periods in the middle were almost similar, the percentages did not fluctuate significantly actually.Correct article usage
