The maps below show the center of a small town called Islip as it is now, and the plans for its development.
The two maps depict the current and future development plans for the
centre
of Islip town.
Overall
, the major change in this
town will relate to the construction of a ring around the centre
. In addition
, shopping and housing areas are also
planned for some other changes.
It can be seen that places in the south of Islip will remain unchanged. The school is expected to stay at the same location, next to the new housing and outside the carriageway on the left-hand side. Additionally
, the residential area is foreseen to be located at nearly the same point as its current location.
According to
the future plan, the main road is predicted to be converted into a dual carriageway surrounding the entire city centre
while
the middle part of this
road will become pavement for pedestrians only. Regarding the northern area of Islip central town, all shops in front of the current main road will be demolished to make way for a new large shopping centre
, and the rest is predicted to be occupied by a bus station and a car parking lot.Submitted by joyce.ta213 on
