An English-speaking friend has written to you to ask you how your English studies are going.
Write a letter telling your friend about your progress. In your letter say what progress you are making describe the study methods and any materials you are using say what you find most difficult

Dear Garry, Hope
this
letter finds you in radiant health and best of spirits. It's been a long time since we have had the time to catch up and reminisce about things.Let's meet soon ,if possible.Anyways, I am writing
this
letter to tell you that I have made a lot of improvements in the English language. Well ,you will be surprised that my professor complimented me after my
last
test .He said I am doing so well in reading and listening parts because I got A grades in both of them.
This
happens because I am studying hard for the
last
couple of weeks. I subscribed to a few youtube channels which teach a number of tips and tricks for the above-mentioned modules .
Moreover
, I have been joining peer discussions as well in which a group of persons choose a topic and chat about it .Only English speaking is allowed in the class.
This
helps me in nourishing my fluency . Everything is going well.
However
, I am still struggling with writing .I find
this
part very challenging .Even though I practice again and again ,I still get low marks.I always do mistakes with tenses ,articles and prepositions.I hope I will get rid of these problems as soon as possible so that I can do better in writing.
Besides
, I want to say thank you for the
last
letter that you sent me .It showed me how much you care about me. You are my true friend. Give my regards to my uncle and aunt. Warm wishes, Anu

Use cohesive linking words accurately and appropriately

Linking words are very important in your essay.

To score effectively on your IELTS exam, you should make an effort to implement short concise sentences coupled with linking words.

Almost every sentence in your essay should have a linking word of some sort.

In fact, the only sentences that can omit linking words are your background sentence and thesis.

Linking word examples:

  • firstly
  • secondly
  • thirdly
  • in additional
  • moreover
  • also
  • for example
  • for instance
  • therefore
  • however
  • although
