The table given compares the expenditure on three different categories in five nations in the year 2002. From an
overall
perspective, it is evident that in all five countries, citizens allocated the highest proportion of their budget for Food, Drinks, and Tobacco and significantly less to Leisure and Education. Of all the five countries, inhabitants in Turkey spend the highest percentage of their income on Food, Drinks, and Tobacco, at 32.14%. The figures for Ireland and Spain were lower, at 28.91% and 18.8%, respectively, compared to 16.36% for Italians. Swedish,
however
, accounted for the lowest proportion, at only 15.77%. In terms of Clothing and Footwear,
while
this
category accounted for 9% of the total spending for Italians, the data on the remaining nations were only from 5% to 7%. Leisure and Education were the lowest spending group, with less than 5% of the total expenditure being expended in each country.
