The Diagram below describes how water is stored and used to produce electricity. Write an academic report indicating the main features and how they are interrelated
The diagram shows the process of hydroelectricity production from
water
stored in a reservoir
in Homeland.
The process for the production of hydroelectric power
consists of a dam with a valve and a turbine and a pump chamber on its downstream side and high voltage cables for the transferring of high voltage to a transformer station.
Initially
, the valve opens and water
flows from the dam into the turbine through a canal and generates power
, after which the power
is transferred by two high voltage cables to a transformer station. The power
is then
distributed to factories, homes and hospitals in Someland via underground cables.
Water
flows back from the turbine through a canal and is pumped back into the reservoir
. The water
in the reservoir
is also
replenished by rain which is caused by the evaporation of water
in the oceans and seas which then
produce clouds that pass over the mountains where they cool down and cause rainfall in the vicinity of the reservoir
