The most important aim of science should be to improve people's lives. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is argued that the ultimate objective of advancement in technology and
science
is to promote the living standard of humans. I completely agree with
this
proposal and I think individuals can benefit a lot from the progress of
science
to live more healthily and conveniently.
Science
can revolutionize the field of medicine, leading to groundbreaking discoveries, improved diagnostics, and effective treatments. By focusing on enhancing people's well-being,
science
has played a pivotal role in eradicating diseases, extending life expectancy, and alleviating suffering.
For instance
, the development of vaccines has prevented millions of deaths and reduced the burden of infectious diseases worldwide.
Thus
,
science
's primary aim to improve people's lives is evident in its impact on health and medicine.
Science
can
also
transform various aspects of human life to a large extent. From the advent of electricity to the digital revolution,
science
has significantly enhanced communication, transportation, and
overall
convenience. These advancements have not only improved productivity but
also
provided new opportunities for education, employment, and entertainment. The proliferation of smartphones and the internet,
for example
, has connected people across the globe, facilitating access to information and fostering a more interconnected world. In conclusion, my view is that we should try our utmost to improve our lives through the revolution of modern technology.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
