The English Department has decided to hold a speech contest in late December, but your classmates find that it is too near the final examination. Write to the Dean of the department. In your letter: - Introduce yourself, - Explain the problem, - Suggest a change of the time.
Dear Mr Smith,
I am writing with regard to the speech contest which will be held in December by your department.
My name is Maria Do, a student of MBA 11. I am pleased to inform you that all of my classmates are interested and excited about the contest, and we intend to participate in it.
However
, there is a timing conflict here. We will work on our thesis in the following six months, and the final defence will come in someday in January. The thesis is a hard job, and we may be exhausted and overwhelmed by it. Therefore
, we will not be able to have time for the speech which also
requires proper preparation.
On behalf of all my class, I would suggest you postpone the competition until March so that we can thoroughly prepare and enjoy it.
I hope that you can address our concerns as soon as possible. We look forward to your decision.
Yours sincerely,
Maria DoSubmitted by mariatuyet82 on
