The chart below shows the total number of minutes(in billions) of telephone calls in the UK ,divided into three categories from 1995 to 2002.
The bar chart depicts the statistics of minutes of phone conversations that were made on local, mobile, national and international calls in the United Kingdom within the period of 8 years. It was measured in lots. To start with, the tons of minutes of phone calls for the three methods followed the same pattern over the given years. In the year 1995,the use of fixed-line stood at around 74billion.
This
was followed by a steady increase till 1999 when it arrived at a peak at 90billion.
Thereafter
,there was a gradual decrease in the number of its usage from 2000 to 2002 at about 85billion and nearly 74billion(almost the same minutes that were recorded in 1995) respectively. Moving to fixed line, the usage of national and international means of communication rose progressively within the space of eight years (1995 to 2002) from almost a 40billion to just above a 60billion.In the same manner, the sum of mobile calls
also
experienced a moderate surge till the year 2002 when it reached a plateau at around 45billion,
although
it was the least patronized.
Overall
,it can be seen that usage of all three means of communication had a marked improvement throughout the entire period.
However
, local calls remained the most commonly used
while
mobiles were the least.
