People think that government should increase the cost of fuel for cars and other vehicles to solve environmental problems. Give your opinion.
Many people believe that the
cost
of fuel
for means of transport increased by the government
can minimize environmental dilemmas. This
essay will argue that the disadvantages of this
development will outweigh the advantages.
To begin
with, one of the greatest benefits is the decrease in demand for vehicles that used gas. Not every family who owns a private vehicle will be willing to spend more money on transportation and as a result
, they have to find an alternative, for ,instance public transport. Furthermore
, companies will also
have to cut down their usage of fuel
if they want to keep their revenue unchanged. In both ,cases the rise in fuel
cost
would result in fewer emissions and therefore
result in reduced environmental issues such
as the greenhouse effect and damage to the ozone layer.
However
, there are a few problems with this
viewpoint. Firstly
, increasing the price of fuel
can have a negative effect on the national economy. transportation is one of the basic foundations of almost every economic field. Products and materials need to be delivered many times before they are ready to be sold to customers. The higher expenditure of production will lead to lower demand from customers and therefore
the loss of the company’s revenue. Secondly
, in many countries, for example
in Germany, a part of an employee’s fuel
cost
will be paid by the company as a government
policy. In the end, the higher cost
will not directly affect many people but rather the expense of the government
.
In conclusion, increasing the price of fuel
will not actually be the solution to many environmental problems when we look at it in the whole picture. To help reduce the emission from private means of transport, the government
could instead
encourage people to use environmentally friendly vehicles like electric cars, in which the user could benefit from lower taxes or road fees,...Submitted by sapdosinhhoa on
