Some people say that modern communication technology means that good handwriting is no longer necessary. Others believe that good handwriting will always be an important skill. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

These days, some people are of the opinion that good handwriting is altered by modern communication tools,
while
others believe that good handwriting is one of the most important abilities. In my opinion, good handwriting is not required in these modern times.
To begin
with, it is certainly true that good handwriting can make readers feel stress-free.
Furthermore
, in crucial situations
such
as workplaces, untidy handwriting can lead to misunderstandings and mistakes at work.
In addition
, it is possible that good handwriting can help students' education.
Although
technologies have developed, students still rely on notebooks and pencils for note-taking, making good handwriting essential for effective note organisation.
Moreover
, having good handwriting may motivate students to look back at their notebooks. Having said that, nowadays, most workplaces prefer digital documents over handwritten paperwork because digital letters are easier to understand, can be read by everyone, and promote equality.
This
shift resolves the issue of readers struggling to read sentences when the writer's handwriting skills are poor.
Moreover
, the decline in handwriting usage leads to cost savings on paper as modern communication tools like tablets or laptops replace traditional paper-based methods.
Additionally
, by not needing to focus on writing with good handwriting, we can save valuable time in our busy lives.
This
allows us to use our time more efficiently rather than dedicate it solely to writing by hand. In conclusion, there is no doubt that good handwriting is not essential in today's world, as the advantages of modern communication tools outweigh the benefits of prioritising good handwriting skills.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
