In 1990, 42% of people aged between 35, and 50 donated to charity, which is the highest in the graph. On the contrary
, the 18-25 year-olds were the least generous, at just 17% in the same year. By 2010, these numbers had dropped considerably, with 35% for the age of 35 and more and 7% for the under-25 donors respectively. The level of donations from 26-35-year-olds also
fell in 2010, from 31% to 24%.
While
donations by people under 50 dropped in both years but they rose among those aged between 51 and 65, from 35% to almost 40%. They made this
