You said you would attend a friend's dinner party but you did not go. Write a letter to your friend. In the letter: - Apologize for not attending - Explain why you did not attend - Say what you will do to make up for it

Dear Guri, How are you? I hope
this
letter finds you in radiant health. I am extremely sorry about I didn'
t
make it to the dinner party
last
night. Still, I couldn'
t
believe how dumb I am in use of technology. What happened is that
last
week, when you sent me the invitation to the party, I set a reminder on my new iPhone. But, unfortunately, I set it for the upcoming week
instead
of
this
one. I didn'
t
have any idea that
this
will happen that's why I didn'
t
open your text again to double-check one more time.
Last
night, when you guys were calling me, at that time, my cellphone was powered off because usually I turn it off when I am studying for my NCLEX exam just to avoid distractions. I don'
t
have any idea how I fell asleep
while
studying and I didn'
t
turn my phone on till
this
morning. I really feel very regretful when I got your messages
this
morning. I hope you will forgive me for
this
stupid mistake. Just to make it up, If you and Preet are free
this
weekend
then
we can plan a get-together again to reunite after
such
a long time. I hope you can forgive me. Best wishes, Arshdeep Kaur

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
