The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.
The map illustrates the layout of a public
library
two decades ago and its appearance at present.
Overall
, the
library
experienced significant changes over twenty years with many replacements, expansions, and new introductions. Most of the spaces in the
library
are repurposed for other rooms, events, and facilities. In the past, there was a reading room storing newspapers and magazines on the left side of the entrance,
while
the enquiry desk was placed on the right for serving services of the
library
. Currently, the computer room takes the place of the old reading area and the enquiry desk was replaced by the cafe. In the centre of the public
library
, two tables surrounded by chairs disappear for more space. On the left of the tables,
while
adult non-fiction book is converted to fiction ones, equipped with information desks and three self-service machines, all reference books were positioned on the right. The room used for storing CDs, videos, and computer games is expanded, furnished with sofas, and designed for children’s fiction books and storytelling events. On the opposite corner, the children’s books section is converted into a lecture hall.
