The maps illustrate what the layout of the ground floor of a library looked like in the years 2001 and 2009.
It is clear that
there are various striking transformations. It is the appearance of more types of books
together with
some new facilities
such
as the computer system
along with
a children's area, and
also
the arrangement of tables. As can be seen, one particular change in 2009 was that the library provided a wider variety of topics including kitchen, economics and law
in addition
to self-help, fiction and history.
While
all of the books were still placed at the initial position in 2001, which was on the left of the area, those shelves for fiction novels in the north were later used for children's books.
Besides
, within 8 years, the section where people could find newspapers and periodicals before was replaced by films and DVDs for entertainment. Another significant modernization was the place for sitting. There used to be 8 separate small ones in the middle in 2001, yet
then
those were turned into 4 longer ones in order to be more convenient for readers.
Moreover
, a playground for kids and a system of computers were installed to facilitate people's needs as well.
