The bar chart compares the frequencies of Americans dining out at fast food restaurants in three separate years between 2003 and 2013.
It is clear that
the majority of people in the US ate fast food once a week or 1-2 times per month,
whereas
few of them had the habit of eating on a daily basis or avoided it. In 2003, approximately 31% of customers paid a visit to fast food chains once per week, in which the figure peaked at 33% in 2006 and
then
dropped to 28%.
By contrast
, the trend for those in the “ 1-2 time a month “ category was quite the opposite, decreasing by 5% in 2006 at first but surging to around 33%.
As a result
, it made up the biggest proportion in 2013. With regard to the percentage of people who consumed in
this
kind of outlet several times a week, it reached a peak of 20% in 2006 but fell back to 16% 5 years later.
In addition
, there was a slight increase in Americans who reported eating at those outlets a few times a year, rising from 13% to 15% in 2006 and staying unchanged for the next five years.
