The given map represents 2 proposed locations for the construction of a new supermarket in Garlsdon.

Overall

, the main difference between the two possible sites is that the first site is in the countryside

while

the second one is roughly in the middle of the Town Centre.

To begin

with, as can be seen from the picture, the first site is located in the rural area, which is far away from the residential area and near the main road leading to Hindon about 12 km to the North-West corner. It becomes very convenient for inhabitants who live in Hindon and Garlsdon as there are two ways to reach it, either by train or through the main road.

Furthermore

, the second proposed location which is almost in the middle of the Town Centre would be surrounded by the industrial zone and accommodation on the North and South side of the city.

In addition

, the distance to Cransdon and Bransdon is about 25km and 16km, respectively. To get to

this

area, the most suitable transport is by train as traffic is not permitted in industrial areas.
