Describe an important river or lake in your country. You should say: Where it is located? How big/long it is? What is look like? And explain why it is important?

Speaking of a
lake
in Vietnam
that is
important, it would definitely be
West
Lake
.
This
lake
has a great meaning to the local people
as well as
to my childhood. It is situated in the
west
of the capital,
West
Lake
has long been one of the symbols of Hanoi, an image of childhood in the minds of any Hanoians. The name "
West
" of the
lake
is directly gotten from the
West
district, where
this
lake
is located. It's arguably the largest local
lake
I've ever met, I mean it's huge, really huge. We can see it clearly on the map,
for example
, the Google Map application on the smartphone, and it is like a giant water tank of the capital. When it comes to the reason why I felt it is important, well, is because previously, it became part of my memories. When I was a kid, my father often takes me to
this
lake
to swim on hot summer days. Was a little nervous at
first,
but eventually I got used to it, and really enjoyed swimming in the
lake
. It made me relax and stay healthy.
In addition
,
West
Lake
is a meeting place when it comes to special occasions, hosting many important events in a variety of fields,
such
as Running Competitions, Bike Racing, and Kayaking Contests. Recently,
West
Lake
has changed quite a lot with the advent of buildings and new houses in the surroundings.
However
, the nature of the local
lake
here remains unchanged as it is still nostalgic and cosy. In the future, I continue to live here.
This
is simply because
this
lake
has been a part of my mind for all my life until now and it will always be.
