The diagram below illustrates how a simple water filter is constructed and how it functions to produce clean drinking water.
The process diagram displays how to create clean
water
using a
water
filter and it explains how it is constructed.
Overall
, the process consists of five main stages: Collecting, Pouring, filtering, storing and
finally
drinking In the
first
stage, dirty
water
is collected inside a container, which can be
water
coming from rain or used for other purposes that know we want to reuse and make it clean again. For the next step, we need to use the plastic barrel, which is a
water
filter that has three main components, that make possible the filtering of
water
.
First
of all, we have the sand, which is the material
that is
going to enter into contact
first
with the
water
, when is poured inside the container, and it has a light brown colour.
Secondly
, we have the charcoal, which has a darker brown colour and is located in between the sand and the
last
component, the gravel, which has a slight pink colour and can be found at the bottom of the drum. The second step is to put
water
inside
this
drum, which is going to make it flow throughout all these elements previously mentioned. Where there is the
last
layer of elements, there is
also
a tube, which filters the dirty
water
and that connects the
first
barrel to another one called a storage drum (during
this
process, the plastic barrel is above the storage drum).
After
this
, the
water
is going to flow through
this
long tube until entering the other drum, from where it can
then
be poured into a glass, and, as the
last
step, we can drink it because now it is clear.
