International tourism has brought enormous benefit to many places. At the same time, there is concern about its impact on local inhabitants and the environment. Do the disadvantages of international tourism outweigh the advantages? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Nowadays, the growing trend of international
tourism
leads to considerable benefits for many
tourist
spots
while
bringing negative impacts to local residents and the
environment
. In my opinion, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages for sure. But
people
should find the balance point of it. On the one hand, international
tourism
might lead to several concerns.
Firstly
, the boundary between local and foreign cultures will be blurred since international tourists bring their
culture
to those places through
tourism
. Some rural regions will lose their uniqueness through the development of the
tourist
industry
.
Secondly
, visitors might not always follow the rules even if the government sets up a complete environmental policy for those
tourist
spots
.
For instance
, the Hualien city on the east side of Taiwan is well-known for its astonishing landscape.
Tourist
spots
in Hualien are often littered with large amount of garbage which ruin the
environment
seriously.
In other words
, the over-developing international
tourism
risks the local
culture
and
environment
.
On the other hand
, prosperous
tourism
definitely gives great help to the local economic growth. Many inhabitants around the globe rely their living on the
tourist
industry
.
For example
, international
tourism
links many occupations together since it drives a long
industry
chain.
People
such
as restaurants and hotel owners, tour guides or taxi drivers all benefit from international
tourism
.
Moreover
, a prosperous
tourist
industry
also
boosts cultural exchange. International visitors and local residents can share their experiences and both broaden their horizons on
culture
. International
tourism
opens a door for
people
to extend their learning on different aspects. On the whole, the international
tourism
of many
tourist
spots
is like a double-edged sword. It boosts the economy and
culture
exchange
while
bringing negative impacts.
People
should find a balance between development and protecting the local inhabitants and the
environment
.
Although
there are several concerns, the fact of the following benefits makes
this
development a blessing rather than a curse.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
