I’ve been working on my own project which is an online shop for almost 5 years. Suddenly
this
month, someone called me and asked me if I could sell the shop to him, and he proposed a price of one hundred thousand, so I sold it. It was totally a surprise for me. After receiving
this
money, I was planning to enjoy myself for a
while
and take a long vacation to travel around different destinations
such
as Paris, London and Tokyo. I’ve been hard working for nearly 5 years, so I think I need to take some time to unwind and recharge myself. Why don’t we catch up next Friday if you’re free? I know there’s a famous restaurant, which, by the way, has the most delicious green curry in the town, has recently reopened. I think it’s a perfect place for us to celebrate and have fun together. I’m looking forward to your response and hope to see you soon. Love to the family. Take care, Regina

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
