Some companies blocks their employees from using social media and web sites such as facebook. Do you think managers should trust employees to use time wisely, or do you think it is smart of companies to blocks access to some sites? Provide reasons and examples to support your opinion.

Nowadays with the advent of internet anyone can be connected if having a properly device and connection, even
while
working.
That is
why some companies blocked the free access to some types of social media because it is not part of the
job
. In
this
essay I will show why I agree with companies attitude in trying to keep their employees having some type of interaction and avoiding presenteeism. On the one hand, when you have indiscriminated access to any type of media and you are an assidue cybernaut, your tendency is to be absorbed in the internet content and forget to interact with the team you are part, specially at break times.
For example
: you are at
work
and everybody there knows each other, talk to each other and have a great time together at lunch. As result, the team have enough intimacy and the
work
flows easily, but it only happens because partially entrance in internet inside the company are blocked,
otherwise
most of the people would be surfing in it and oblivious to matters.
Secondly
, the main consequence of free access to social network is presenteeism where the employee are at
work
, but is not doing his
job
. To illustrate: I worked at a remote
job
for a
while
with a splendid team and each of us used to have a specific
work
to be done throughout the day. Sometimes I had to call someone to ask for a help because I just could not obtain a response from the person on the chat in consequence of theirs addiction to social medias and in the passing days, the
work
became delayed till a person be fired. Considering all of above,
this
essay showed two reasons in an infinite scope of why some types of social platforms are worth blocking. Personally, after going through a situation where I had to literally pick someone up to make he do his
job
, I switched 100% companies side.
