Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing
this
letter with regard to the job advertisement to live with your family and to take care of a child. I would like you to consider me for
this
position because I would be a great fit for that. I have worked in a daycare in India for the
last
two years and I know various ways to engage, entertain, and educate kids
while
playing.
In addition
, I can communicate effectively in English and Hindi to interact with the child. I meet all the requirements of the job you have posted. I have a two-year diploma in the field of education and daycare.
Moreover
, I have
also
done some extra certifications related to my field which makes me more confident to work as a caretaker. I have visited Australia twice before and explored many places but I have some beautiful places on my list to visit and enjoy. If I would be given a chance, I would like to explore those areas in my free time. I thank you in anticipation and look forward to a positive response. Yours faithfully, Sonia

The Greeting

Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.

Always start an informal letter in the ways:

  • Dear + name
  • Hi / Hello + name

‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.

For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:

  • Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
  • Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
