The table illustrates the proportions in five countries which are (Ireland , Italy , Spain, Sweden and Turkey in 2002.
Overall
, there were three categories of consumer spending. Food, drinks and tobacco were the highest sections in spending,
while
leisure and education were the lowest classes in expenditure . As for the terms of drinks ,food and tobacco , Turkey was the upmost in the percentage of costs at 32.14%.
On the other hand
, the smallest ratio in
this
group was in Sweden at 15.77%. The average of the spending in
this
category was 16.3% in Italy. Leisure and education were the least spent in all five countries
while
Turkey was the highest at 4.35%. Clothing and footwear were the third category. The top percentage of
this
section was 9% in Italy compared to Sweden which was the lowest ratio at 5.40%.The average of costs in
this
group was approximately 5.4% in Ireland.
