In the past, everyone wore clothes according to their culture but now people wear similar clothes all around the world. Is this a positive or a negative development?

People
nowadays wear
clothes
in similar forms and designs compared to those who lived ages ago and often wore garments depending on their traditions. In my point of view,
although
the former sacrifices the cultural varieties, I regard it as a positive development that
people
can wear various
clothes
as well as
choose what they want to wear of their own free will.
To begin
with, it is indispensable that traditional customs and related accessories represent a culture and should be preserved by all of us. In fact, our ancestors put specific
as well as
unique patterns on their
clothes
and used them to differentiate them and other groups. Not only do those pictures show high-level crafting skills but, they
also
provide us with a chance to know how
people
's lives at that time (The designs and meaning behind the patterns are usually relevant to the living environments, histories and cultures).
However
, with advanced technologies being adopted by the mass-production clothing industry,
people
living in the modern world enjoy more choices than before. With more accessibility and affordability, We can buy various style of
clothes
and change what we wear at will and that
further
brings huge convenience to us and boost the economy of a country. What's more, the factories are able to produce higher quality garments and alter designs
according to
customers' needs. The customization services can
also
merge with traditional patterns and
then
create something novel and astonishing, which helps to conserve cultural diversity.
To sum up
, someone may argue that if
people
nowadays stop wearing traditional customs, the culture will disappear and have no chance to revive. But that's not the truth. The new habit that
people
wearing the same style of clothing makes excellent use of traditional elements and
also
leads to economic growth.
Moreover
, it shows
people
living in a market-dominant society have the right to choose what they desire.
