Dear Mrs.Angela, I have been a student of Foreign Languages for two years and I am proud of studying here. I am writing to you to apologise for the cheating in the previous mid-term dated 15th October. It is known that mid-term exams are essential for our grades. That's why every student has to pass them without any tricks. Unfortunately, on that day I was caught using my mobile phone and I am so sorry about
this
situation. I would like to tell you the reason for my fault. Since my mother was ill, I had to take care of her and I did not prepare for my examination well enough.
Therefore
, I needed to utilize my phone during the exam. I promise not to do so again and humbly request your forgiveness. I look forward to receiving your kind mercy soon. Yours sincerely, Bakhtiniso

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
