You are supposed to submit a history project by 11th November. However, your sister is getting married in Hawaii at the same time. You would like an extension on the due date for submitting the project. Write to your professor. In your letter: explain the situation, remind the professor of your excellent academic record to date, ask for an extension of the due date.

Dear Mr. Pattrick Greetings of the day! I ,John Simmons ,am writing
this
letter to humbly request you regarding the extension of the history project ,which
otherwise
needs to be submitted on 11th November. There is a family event which is taking place on the same day .My sister is getting married on that particular day all of a sudden .
Hence
, I
along with
my entire family am moving to Hawaii for the same . I have always submitted my previous assignments prior to the deadline.
Also
,under your perfect ,guidance I have arranged a successful excursion to a historical museum as a part of the curriculum. Not only
this
,I have always topped in my monthly
as well as
annual exams . I have
also
been a part of local excavations as per your suggestion because all these are an integral part of my academics. Could I get an extension period of fifteen days ? I promise that I will submit it at the given time . I will not let you down. I am looking forward to getting a positive response from you. Yours Sincerely John Simmons

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
