number
of burglaries dropped significantly over the given period,

number
of
car
thefts increased gradually. At the beginning of the period, burglary was the most prevalent crime in Machester City, but after 2006,
car
theft became the most committed crime. With regards to the
number
of burglaries, it began with 3400 cases and
then
peaked at about 3700 in 2004 before falling dramatically to about 1400 in the
last
year.

, approximately 2300
car
thefts were perpetrated in the first year, after which it gradually rose to 2700 cases in 2012 and reached the highest rate in the
last
six years.
