Being a circular shape, the cell body called “Soma” is located in the centre of the neuron
and is surrounded by many branches of the dendrites
which receive messages from other cells and link to another neuron
. Being the biggest size branch of dendrites
, the axon
is a long cord conveying notes from Soma to other neurons, muscles or glands. Every axon
is covered by 5 myelin sheaths which function to help speed neural impulses.
The action potential is shaped as electrical potential travelling down the axon
and also
