You are preparing an event in the countryside. Write a letter to your friend and ask for help with the arrangements. In your letter, •describe the event •mention what arrangements have already been made •say how your friend can help

Dear Mike, I hope
this
letter finds you well. I'm writing to invite you and Mary to my party and ask for some help. I'm in charge of organizing the Halloween party
this
year. And we, with kids and Karen, found a great old house 100 kilometres away from the city to arrange the celebration. It'll be great! I've already bought a bunch of stuff like decorations, food and treats for neighbour's kids. And by the way, I didn't forget about your favourite wine and those nut bars for your boy. Dude, I desperately need some help with costumes and a magic wand for Penny. Could you please pick up some stuff from the delivery point near your office on Friday and bring it to the party? Say hi to Mary. I hope to see you soon. Love you, Adam

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
