week on Sunday night to resume work on Monday as usual. Kindly note, that I am handing over my duties and tasks for the rest of

coherence cohesion
Try to maintain an organized structure with distinct paragraphs introducing the situation, explaining the leave period, and outlining the plan for your absence in a clear and logical order.
coherence cohesion
You should employ appropriate forms of address, use correct salutations and sign-offs in a business letter format. Writing 'Dear Sir' is overly general, you should specify the addressee's name or title if known, and 'Sincerely yours' should be 'Yours sincerely'.
task achievement
Please make sure all parts of the letter task are thoroughly covered and the reasons are explained in depth. Also, ensure the explanation aligns with formal criteria suitable for a workplace.
task achievement
The tone of your writing should be formal and polite, reflecting respect and the significance of the situation. Be cautious with colloquial expressions and casual language in a professional context.

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
