Turkey has the highest share of food and beverage spending, accounting for more than one-third (36%) of its total expenditure, followed by Spain with a slightly lower amount, at 31%. Housing also
consumes the largest proportion of expenditure for all the countries except Turkey. The UK has the highest figure, at 37%, while
Spain has the lowest, representing one-fifth (18%). France and Germany have similar percentages, at roughly one-third,
while
Turkey’s proportion is considerably lower, at 20%.
The difference between the countries’ proportions of recreation spending is minimal, ranging from 10% to 14%. However
, it is worth noting that Turkey, which has the highest percentage of food and drink, has the lowest in recreational activities, at just 10%. Germany has the highest percentage, at 14%. The clothing category shows the
