The maps below show the changes that have taken place at the waterfront area of a town called Darwin between 2009 and 2014.
The given maps illustrate how the waterfront zone of the town of Darwin transformed from 2009 to 2014.
By and large, it is noticeable that the area has undergone a dramatic transformation with the most significant change being the conversion of the industrial areas into various new facilities to cater for residents’ needs. Another notable feature is the emergence of a new harbour in the southeast corner of the town.
In 2009, the northern part of Darwin was dominated by an industrial zone to the west of the lake, both of which were encircled by a footpath.
However
, while
the latter witnessed no alterations, the former was converted into a swimming pool by 2014. Meanwhile, the school, the convention centre, the large swimming pools and the fishing pier remained unchanged.
Regarding the southern area, the entire industrial zone was demolished to make way for a new university building and a large woodland. Moreover
