The graph below shows average carbon dioxide (Co2) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal between 1967 and 2007. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The given line chart illustrates the typical volume of carbon dioxide (CO2) per person in four countries including the UK, Sweden, Italy and Portugal over a 37-year
period
. The unit is measured in tonnes (T
).
Looking at the overall
perspective, it is apparent that the UK emitted the highest value of CO2 among others as opposed to Portugal which has demonstrated the best performance for generating the lowest amount of CO2 per head.
At the beginning of the period
, although
the UK initiated from 11T and witnessed a slightly downward trend to 9T in the last
year of the period
, the produced emissions per head of this
country were ranked the first highest value among others continuously over the studied period
. Likewise
, after experiencing a rise from 9T in 1967 to just above 10T in 1977, Sweden witnessed a sharp decline to just above 5T so that the rank of this
country decreased from the second highest producer to the last
one, just that of Portugal reached in 2007.
In terms of increasing trends, Portugal witnessed a steady upward trend, initiating from 1T and reaching its peak of 5T. However
, the mentioned values for Portugal were the lowest amount of emitted CO2 in the given period
. Also
, Italy began its record from 4T and saw a dramatic growth to 6T in 1977. In the last
10 years, it leveled
off after a slight increase to 7T in 1977.Change the spelling
