came the worst part. Yes, the end. I was doomed. The moment I flipped the

coherence cohesion
While the essay does touch upon the experience of reading 'Harry Potter' and describes the emotions involved, it could be improved by establishing a clearer introduction and conclusion. Ideally, the first paragraph should clearly introduce the topic of the essay and the last paragraph should provide a summary or a reflective conclusion on the described feelings. Consider reworking these sections to provide a more rounded essay structure.
coherence cohesion
The essay meanders slightly, touching on various aspects of the book and personal feelings without a clear and logical progression. To enhance your coherence and cohesion, organize your thoughts more effectively. Begin by stating your main feeling or impression of the book, support this with reasons for your feelings throughout the essay, and then conclude with how these feelings have settled or what the lasting impact has been on you. Clear paragraphing, along with the use of cohesive devices, will strengthen this aspect of your writing.
task achievement
You have made an adequate attempt in responding to the task, providing some detail on your feelings towards 'Harry Potter'. However, to achieve a higher score, it is important to fully develop your ideas and provide more specific examples of how the book elicited the feelings mentioned. Dive deeper into the aspects of the book that provoked the strongest emotions, using descriptive language and specific incidents from the text, if possible. Additionally, although personal engagement with the text is clear, the response could be enhanced by reflecting on how the book may have changed your perspective or affected you personally, rather than summarizing the plot.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
