The two pie charts illustrate the proportion of
electricity
generated in the country of France for 1990 and 2010 by five different energies, coal, oil, natural gas, hydro and nuclear
power
.
Overall
, it can be seen that nuclear
power
's total production in 1990 was next to
last
became the majority
power
source in 2010,
while
hydropower was still the minority one.
It is clear that
in 1990, natural gas and coal contributed an identical percentage of
electricity
in France, which make up just over a quarter of the total, 28%.
While
compared with the two dominant
power
resources, oil produced slightly below them with just under a quarter of the total, 22%. The remaining 23% of
power
was composed of nuclear
power
and hydropower with 17% and 6% respectively. Looking into the information for more details, nuclear
power
embraced a boom in generating electrical
power
, and the total proportion of
electricity
produced by nuclear
power
was set to increase by a factor of four, from 17% to almost 68% (67%). In 2010, there were still two fuel sources that produced the same amount of
electricity
,
however
, they were coal and oil with 13%, not coal and natural.
Additionally
, natural gas drastically dropped to just 4% of the fuel source for electrical output and the remaining 2% of
power
was produced using hydropower.
