Dear Joxa, I hope
this
letter finds you well. I'm so sorry that I missed your birthday party
this
weekend - it was completely unintentional and I feel terrible about it. As your friend, missing
such
an important event was inexcusable. You see,
last
week was incredibly busy for me. Between finishing assignments for my writing courses and starting a new part-time job, I barely had a moment to myself. In all the chaos, your birthday celebration must have slipped my mind. It wasn't until Sunday that my girlfriend mentioned the party and I realized, that I had never given you a call. I can't express how disappointed I am in myself. You always make time for your friends, even when life gets hectic. I should have done the same. Please know that forgetting was not because your birthday isn't important to me - it just shows how scattered my head has been lately. I hope you'll accept my sincere apology. To make it up to you, how about I treat you to lunch

dishes and you can tell me all about your special day. And I promise, next year your party will be the only thing on my calendar for weeks beforehand. You're one of my best friends, Joxa. Thank you for understanding, and I hope you can forgive my mistake. Please let me know about lunch - I owe you, big time. Your friend, Mr Bear
