Today much of the food people eat get imported from farms that are thousands of miles away. Would the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

Nowadays, it is common to see farmers import their farm products around the world to satisfy customers’ flavours.
Although

 measure would generate a harmful impact on the

, I believe that the advantages of

 outweigh the disadvantages. The drawback of imported

 is relevant to the
environment
. Transporting

 needs to use thousands of vans and lots of flights powered by fossil fuels.
Thus

 measure has to create pollution every day, which would pollute the
environment
.
Furthermore

 transportation
also
 produces a large amount of waste from packaging.

 affects the
environment
 negatively.
However
, there are lots of benefits to obtain. The first is the economic profits for farmers and employers. These days many

, particularly developing
countries
, rely on imported products.
Countries
 generally have many plantations and crops that are only sold to foreign markets, which provides salaries to the farmers and offers jobs for many people around the world.
Moreover

 imports from abroad extend customers’

 choices. Customers these days increasingly rely on other

. They can not cook or eat their favourite

. And lots of restaurants that depend on

 exports may go out of business. In conclusion, in spite of the fact that

 imports may pollute the

 creates more benefits than drawbacks. But it is recommended that
