The chart gives data about the daily revenue - including lunch and dinner - of a little restaurant in the central business district from October 7 to October 13.
Overall
, there are two main points to note.
Firstly
, throughout the entire period, sales in the evening are generally more than those at noon.
Secondly
, revenues at the weekend are far less than on weekdays, either for midday meals or for supper. Looking at the revenues from Monday to Friday in more detail, we can see that sales of lunch on business time fluctuated between $2300 and $2600, with the highest at just under $2600 on Wednesday and the lowest at $2375 on Thursday.
Whereas
during the same period, sales of dinner were quite different in that Friday's night saw the highest figure- $4350- among the five weekdays, more than one-sixth of those other four. Turning to the weekend, there was an obvious decrease in turnovers compared with business days. As for lunch, the incomes on Saturday and Sunday were $1950 and $1550, respectively.
In particular
, the figure for Sunday noon meal was only nearly 60% of that on Wednesday.
Also
, dinner's revenues were similar in
this
comparison with the lowest on Sunday night at $2450, which made up approximately 55% of the highest one - at $4350 on Friday night.
