The graph given illustrates the proportion of four different electronic devices, namely an MP3 player, mobile phone, computer, and tablet purchased by each household over a twenty-year period from 1995 to 2015. From an
overall
perspective, it is evident that the percentage of all electrical categories saw an upward trend with various rates. A new item was introduced in 2005, which was the tablet. At the beginning of the period, the percentage of owning an MP3 player was highest, at about 18%. The data on mobile phones and computers were lower, at the same nearly 10%. In the following years, the percentage of households that bought mobile phones and computers rose sharply to approximately 70% and around 25%, in the next five years, before reaching the same peak, at about 95%, in the final year.
Similarly
, the figure for MP3 underwent a slight increase to nearly 30% in 2000,
then
it gradually grew to over 40% in 2015, compared to over 80% for tablets.
