Dear Sir, I am writing
this
letter as I saw your advertisement in the Newspaper that you are looking forward to hiring a nanny to take care of your six-year-old son. I am wondering if
this
job is amazing for me
according to
my qualifications because I have a two-year diploma in caretaker from a well-known university in your area. Not only

as a nanny where I took care of two siblings aged 4 and 6 respectively.
In addition
to
this
, since I lived with a family before as well, there would not be any issue and I am willing to live with you as I do not like to live alone in the apartments.
Also
, it is a plus point as I do not need to commute in the early morning to your place.
Nevertheless
, I am glad that I will get
this
opportunity again to take care of a young one. I am looking forward to your response and I would be thankful to you if you consider me the best fit for
this
work. Yours faithfully, Simran

The Greeting

Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.

Always start an informal letter in the ways:

  • Dear + name
  • Hi / Hello + name

‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.

For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:

  • Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
  • Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
