There will be a traditional celebration in your country and you want to invite your friend from an English-speaking country. Write him/her a letter and invite your friend, explain what happens at the party, - describe the tradition and why it's important in your country, - say why it is important for your friend to be there.
Hello!
Ivana Kypala is coming, and I want to invite you to spend
this
time with me.
During this
period (it falls on Jule, 6-7) a lot of festivals take place all over Ukraine, so you can choose whatever you want and come. Or, for instance
, you can set your own celebration with family.
Attendants eat delicious traditional food, sing songs and in the end light a bonfire, the cleansing fire of which is believed to scare away evil spirits.
This
tradition is so important to me because from childhood I have believed in a magical atmosphere and all that is
connected to Ukrainian creatures. Every year we make wreaths of flowers and after girls put them in a river with the understanding that it will bring them hope, faith and happiness.
Because of that, I want to spend this
special day with you. You will not regret it. It is so fair and Ukrainians wear traditional embroidered shirts, which takes up to 4 months for women to sew. I can order two for you and me if you want.
So, I hope that you will accept my proposition and I look forward to your reply.
