The graph below shows average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.
The line graph illustrates the carbon dioxide
emissions
per individual in 4 different countries (the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal) during 40 years (from 1967 to 2007).
Overall
, It can be seen that the CO2
emissions
for both the UK and Sweden (with certain fluctuations) declined,
while
the opposite happened to Italy and Portugal. During the graph, the UK showed the highest indicators. Italy had around 4
tonnes
of
emissions
in 1967
while
Portugal had
emissions
close to a tonne. Both of them kept increasing, and experienced a faster burst after 1987, and were plateaued from 1997 to 2007.
In contrast
, the United Kingdom's CO2 discharge started at 11
tonnes
and decreased constantly before ending at around 9
tonnes
in 2007.
Likewise
, Sweden was about 9
tonnes
in the beginning and reached a peak of more than 10
tonnes
in 1967 before decreasing significantly to approximately 6
tonnes
in 2007.
