Broadly, the popularity of money

by the US government exhibited upward trends, that of Italy, Portugal and the UK
recorded completely opposite ones. Portugal, notably, was by far the most widespread money
spent on road
and transport
in 1990.
From the outset in 1990, the proportion of money
spent on road
and transport
in Portugal held the lion’s share, accounting for almost 27%, which was nearly 5% higher than that of its counterpart, Italy. In the following 5 years, both of them saw slight decreases, with precisely 20% and about 24% respectively. The figure for Italy made a recovery to roughly 24% before declining to around 18% in 2005, whilst Portugal witnessed a downward trend in its spending, reaching 20% in the same year

originated from the US, compared to 10% of the statistics for the UK
