Your local council has advertised for volunteers to teach on a basic English programme for refugees. You would like to do some work for this programme in your free time. Write a letter to the programme coordinator. In your letter • explain why you would like to do unpaid work on this programme • describe why you are a suitable candidate • say when you are available to teach.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing
this
letter to bring your attention to the advertisement on the local council. As part of the programme for refugees, I would like to apply for
this
position as a volunteer English trainer. Let me start by saying that as I am a retiree worker and I would like to join
this
plan to teach basic English. In order to support the needs of people. As you announced two schedules I am more interested in doing it in the afternoon between 3 to 5 pm. I would like
therefore
to mention that I have twenty years of experience teaching modern languages, so I believe that I fit
this
role. Most of the time, I taught to children and teenagers. During that time, I developed some techniques and strategies to encourage them how to learn a new language.
Finally
, as I read on the announcement I will be able to start on the 15th of May. If you consider that my experience is convenient and
also
the techniques I would love to have a conversation next week. I hope you will take into
this
consideration and please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss
this
further
. Yours faithfully, Claudia Patino
