The diagram illustrates how glass
bottles
are recycled.
Overall
, it is a cyclical
process
consisting of 4 main stages: recycling, washing, crushing and moulding. The first
stage
involves people putting glass
bottles
in the recycling bins. These bins are transported by garbage trucks to the treatment plant. The next
stage
involves the cleaning
process
whereby the
bottles
undergo washing and sterilisation to remove any potential infectious agents. Following the second
stage
, the glass
bottles
are crushed to make them small and amenable.
Subsequently
, they are going to be exposed to high heat in order to be melted and turned into a liquid which is easier to work with. It is important to note that these two processes are done by machines. The next
stage
is the moulding
process
,
this
is where the liquid is poured into glasses which are recyclable before being delivered to supermarkets.
This
entire
process
is continuous, it starts with and ends with recycling.
