, the proceeding consists of six steps.
This
includes a recycling stage in between . At first , Uranium is mined from the ground and turned into pellets in the next stage . During
this
process, it is enriched to U-235. These enriched fuel pellets power the generators to produce electricity . Their efficiency lasts for up to four years .
After
this
time period of use, these pellets become nuclear waste .The ineffective fuel is managed in two ways . Some of it is re-processed and reused to repeat the process for another 48 months .
whereas
the waste fuel which cannot be utilised again is stored in containers and buried . To summarise , the course of Uranium usage for nuclear energy consists of six steps from mining to dumping .It can be used for up to four years to produce energy and can be partly reused
