The two graphics represent the rainwater cycle in human-inhabited
as well as
uninhabited regions on the planet .
Furthermore
, it shows the variations in each process in between both places.
Overall
, in the human-occupied regions underground erosion is more , meanwhile evaporation and transpiration are less .
whereas
in the non-inhabited region transpiration and evaporation are more and increased water infiltration to the ground . Resulting in stable ground In the jungle terrain more water infiltrates into the soil ,
as a result
, the base flow is not much affected .
Whereas
in areas with buildings infiltration to underground is reduced , causing more polluted runoff water .
This
same reason causes more underground erosion in the cities. In the terrain with buildings evaporation and transpiration are less compared to that of the greener lands. leading to less infiltration to the ground .
Due to
this
the base flow is less inducing greater erosion
