The diagram below shows the process for recycling plastic bottles. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagram illustrates how
plastic
bottles
are recycled.
The cyclical artificial process highlights nine distinct steps involved in converting used bottles
into new products.
To begin
with, used plastic
bottles
are collected from recycling-labelled trash bins before being transported to a recycling centre by specialised trucks. Once they arrive, the bottles
undergo a manual classifying stage, where they are separated based on their suitability for recycling. Following
this
step, the selected bottles
are compressed into large blocks to facilitate further
processing.
Following the compression, the blocks are pushed into a crushing machine that breaks them down into smaller pieces. They are subsequently
rinsed in water to remove any impurities before being fed into a machine in which they are made into plastic
pellets. Afterwards, these pellets are heated from below, forming raw usable plastic
. In the final stage, the raw material is transformed into a variety of goods, such
as bottles
, clothing, bags, stationary products and boxes, thereby completing the recycling process. Eventually, these end products may enter the recycling process once again.Submitted by ieltsamiedu on
