The charts below give information on the ages of the populations of Yemen and Italy in 20 and projections for 2050. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The pie diagram depicts data on the age proportions in two different countries, one European and the other Asian, in 2000 and
also
the predicted population
for 2050 . As it is evident, both states are projected to encounter a notable change regarding the percentages of various age groups.
Yemen, which is located in Asia, is going to face a significant reduction in the number of 0-14-year-old individuals, lowering to about one-third of its population
in 2050. This
age group made up half of the proportion to itself in 2000. On top of that, the percentage of 15-59-year-olds is going to reach the amount of 57 per cent
which was nearly half of the country in 2000. Besides
, there will be a small growth in the +60 portion changing from 3.6 per cent
to 5.7 per cent
On the other hand
, the pattern is quite different in the chart of Italy. As it is illustrated, in 2000 around two-thirds of the population
is made up of 15-59 year olds which will be reduced to below half of the population
. In contrast
, it is estimated that the number of +60 will be approximately doubled by 2050 to the level of 42.3 per cent
. Additionally
, the percentage of 0-14-year-olds will experience a minor alteration from 14.3 to 11.5 per cent
.
To sum up
, these two states have diverse growth inclinations. The population
of Yemen is not going to be as old as Italy in the future.Submitted by basri.fateme on
